I received my Masters in Social Work from Bridgewater State College in 2005, and have worked as an individual therapist with adults in Southeastern Massachusetts for over 20 years, supporting clients on their journey towards growth and well-being. My approach is rooted in compassion, understanding and a commitment to helping you navigate the challenges you are facing in life. Together, we can work towards achieving your goals and improving your quality of life.

Areas of Expertise
Psychotherapy, Individual Therapy
Taking the first steps to initiate therapy can be incredibly scary and intimidating. There is so much stigma associated with taking care of one’s mental health. It can also be very hard to take the initial steps to start talking about your pain, shame, or maybe the ways that you feel “less than”. In my 20 years working as a therapist there is not much I have not heard. I want the clients I work with to feel at ease with the therapy process, no matter how long it takes to accomplish that. I approach each client as an individual, deserving of acceptance and respect and who should be valued and understood.
Therapy is not one size fits all. What works for one person may not work for the next. As a result, I tend to use an eclectic focus with clients, utilizing modalities that help them. More often than not, I take a “casual” CBT style, which addresses a person’s thoughts and resulting emotions and assists the client in changing negative emotions into more positive or realistic. I am client centered and strengths based and I also believe that laughter is very important medicine and that a lot of good can develop from being able to smile and have fun. I have worked as therapist for over 20 years and in the mental health field since 2001. Over that time, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and bundles of experience to help my clients in a variety of ways.
I get so excited to watch clients learn more about themselves, build self confidence and grow as individuals. The transformations I have witnessed in the people I have worked with over the years is amazing and awe inspiring. Emotional pain can be incredibly difficult to deal with, especially on one’s own. Depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, low self-esteem and shame are just some of the common issues I have helped guide clients through on their journey to a more positive and satisfying life. Ultimately, we all deserve to feel better about ourselves and learn to care for ourselves in a more kind and accepting way. I see myself as an assistant to clients who are looking for the things in their lives that are profoundly important, and I genuinely want to help those people who want to feel less stress, anxiety, depression, etc. and feel happy and fulfilled.
